If a provider prescribes treatment, your semaglutide or tirzepatide is prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy in the United States, based on your provider's patient-specific prescription. These are state-licensed pharmacies operating under Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (and, where applicable, registered 503B outsourcing facilities).

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not review compounded medications for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. They are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies in compliance with Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, based on a valid patient-specific prescription from a licensed provider.
